Founded in 2013
The Minecraft server directory was founded on 28 July 2013 in response to the unfinished, slow, and confusing portals of the time. They often focused more on server owners and gave players too little information to make an informed choice.
The project was therefore designed first and foremost for players who know what kind of server they want and need a fast, clear, high-quality interface to find it. Today’s version carries that idea forward on a modernized technical foundation.
More information before joining
From the beginning, the directory has offered a clear server list accompanied by important facts and each server’s own description. Visitors can sort servers efficiently, compare more relevant information, and choose with a better idea of what awaits them.
Whether a player is looking for a small or large server, a particular version, or a certain kind of community, they can quickly narrow the selection and find what suits them.
Kept current
Presentations are reviewed by people as well as an automated system. It regularly checks server availability, allowing inactive entries to be removed automatically and visitors to receive a genuinely current list.
Fairer recommendations
The Recommended order is drawn anew each week. Presentation quality improves a server’s chance of a better position, but no server is guaranteed a permanent place near the top. The aim is to give smaller servers a fair opportunity to be discovered instead of repeatedly favoring only the largest.
Listing and comment rules
These rules define what content belongs in the directory. An administrator manually reviews new listings, proposed edits, and comments before publication.
Adding a server and accuracy of information
- Any site visitor may submit a proposal to add a server. The information they provide about the server must, however, be positive, representative of the server, and relate exclusively to it.
- Every listed address must lead to a real Minecraft server.
- Languages, mode, access, and tags must reflect reality.
- For a server with restricted access, the description must explain how players can join.
- The server must accept players and provide the information they need to connect.
Listing content
- Copying any part or the entirety of another server's description to create your own is not permitted.
- Images embedded in the description must represent the server. Their content must relate to the game or the server itself.
- Do not encourage site visitors to make a payment, for example by publishing SMS message formats for obtaining benefits on the server.
- The site exists to give game servers visibility. Servers used for advertising, promotion, or purposes other than gameplay are not welcome.
Comments
- The comment section is for reviewing servers. Discussions, questions, and answers to questions are not appropriate content.
- Do not post comments on your own servers. Comments are not for announcing news, changes, or similar updates.
- Post only one comment on each listing.
- Comments that provide no value or do not serve the purpose of a review do not belong in the section. The administrator deletes such comments but never edits their text.
